The Gingerbreads take on Sleaford Town this afternoon in the SK Charity Cup at The Meres. Kick off is 12.30pm
"It's another competitive fixture" said Louis Bland "I thought last Saturday we were excellent in the second half against Deeping but couldn't get a goal. On Tuesday night at Kimberley we continued that performance and Rodrigo got the early goal.
The rest of the first half we dominated and forced plenty of chances. The second half we made plenty of changes giving some of the youth team players match time. We need to see what they're about. I felt they didn't really well.
Saturday will be another good team to play against. We know many of their players and everyone here knows Wardy."
After our match Deeping Rangers take on Harrowby Utd in the final, kick off is 3.30pm
The Gingerbread will be open from 11am until late on.
As part of the SK Charity Cup each club has nominated a charity to benefit from the fund-raising. They are:
Sleaford Town – Rainbow Stars
Grantham Town – Grantham Disabled Children’s Society
Harrowby United – Grantham Autistic Information Network
Deeping Rangers – Dementia Support South Lincs
The 2024 tournament will also be in memory of Grantham man Mick Massingham who sadly passed away late last year. Mick was a member of the Charity Cup Committee and long-time supporter of grassroots football in the area.
