Grantham Town 2-3 Sandiacre Town
Update from Coach:
“Game of two halves for sure. Sandiacre just about the better team in the first half and lead 2-1 at half time but we absolutely dominated in the second half and scored early to draw level. We had plenty of opportunities but just couldn't find that finishing touch and ended up conceding on the counter with about 5 mins left to go”
U16s lost 4-3 away to Netherton Utd.
Update from Coach:
“A game of two halves, 3-0 down at half time, from 3 mistakes. Always in the game and our persistence paid off to score 3 goals in 5 minutes.
Game settled by a penalty to them which was a foul but looked outside the box. Let's see the veo playback.
Anyway good performance against a team that has beaten everyone by 4 clear goals.”
Super proud but will be nursing some sore heads and legs
U18s 0-0 away to Chesterfield
Update from Coach:
“A game where both teams tried to play.
Chesterfield dominated the first half with some clever movement overloading our midfield. But we came back into it in the second half creating more opportunities in transition.
Both teams had chances to win in the last 10 minutes. But the draw was probably the fairest result.”
U15s Won 2-1 v Peterborough Blues
Update from Coach:
“We started slowly gifting them a goal in the first few minutes. Peterborough pressed well and made it difficult for us to play. However, for the last three quarters of the game we had the majority of attacking pressure and created many chances. In fact we really should have made a lot more of our opportunities.
But we continued to believe in our abilities, and the work ethic and determination we showed to keep going to the end saw us score twice in the last 5 minutes to claim a fully deserved win.”
And finally an update from Under 8s Coach
‘Outstanding first match for our newly formed U8s against Peterborough United Talent ID Centre. Despite extreme weather conditions, both teams persevered and played some impressive football showing that their hard work in training is paying off.’
Well done to our U8s team!
