Weekend Round Up

U18s 2-0 win

Update from coach:

We didn’t get out the starting block today and we’re lucky not to be behind in the first 20 minutes. However some early substitutions and a bullet header from a corner saw us to half time one up.

Second half we were much more like ourselves. We got the ball down and played our game. A second goal was enough for us to take the 3 points.

That’s not to say the opposition didn’t have chances - they did. But some great saves from our goalkeeper and good defending meant we took a cleansheet along with the 3 points.

U16s NYL lost 1-0.

Update from coach:

We did everything right today apart from put the ball in the back of the net. This was by far our most complete performance this season and on another day we're definitely getting something out of the game.

We lost a player to illness this morning so ended up with only the bare 11 again due to holidays but heads held high the lads did really well all things considered

U16’s won 0-6 away to Staffordshire RTC.

Update from coach:

Similar to the U15’s we had lost 4-5 players last minute for various reasons, but the boys were out the block fast today, taking control of the game from the off, these are a good side but we never let them settle.

The boys’ intensity was fantastic and their mindset was brilliant, plenty of decisions did not go our way but they accepted the decisions from the ref and carried on.

Great start from the boys.

U15s Won 11-0 v Kings Lynn Shadow Team.

Update from coach:

We were missing 4 or 5 individuals today, particularly in the defensive line, meaning some players had to play in unfamiliar positions. But everyone did their jobs really well.

Much like the first fixture, the game wasn’t all one way as the scoreline would suggest, we had to work for it and perform to a good level. But credit to our boys we played as a team and created lots of opportunities with some good unselfish play.

A good way to start the league campaign.

U16 won 0-6 away v Staffordshire RTC,
