Another busy weekend with 3 games for our U16, U15 and U13 teams.
The U13s played away at Kettering town. The full time score was U13s 0-8 Kettering Town.
Update from coach:
‘A first ever competitive match for the U13s ended in defeat.
Sometimes a score line doesn’t show a full picture of the state of play and this is very much one of those. A lot of improvements were made throughout the game, and it’s those improvements that will see us compete very very soon!’
The U15s also travelled to play the Kings Lynn Town Shadow Team. The full time score was Kings Lynn Town Shadow team 0 - 10 U15s
Update from coach:
“This was a 10 nil scoreline that had to be earned. We were the better team throughout but we were only 2-0 up at half time.
We stuck to our way of playing, keeping the ball on the floor, moving it quickly and trying to play in behind at the right moments.
We slowly wore down the opposition and took our chances as the game went on.
Real credit to the lads, they worked hard off the ball as well, even when comfortably in the lead and took pride in the clean sheet they had earned at the other end”.
The Under 16s hosted Boston Utd and the full time result was U16s JPL 0-3 Boston Utd.
Update from coach:
“A disappointing result made worse by the errors all being from Grantham.
Both sides evenly matched and produced a good end to end game for the crowd but the unforced errors were the difference.
Back to the training ground, regroup and go again”.
Thanks to all our teams for their efforts this weekend and we look forward to next weekend's fixtures.
